Description:
Cooperative Extension at North Carolina A&T State University is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Innovation Station Driver.
The Innovation Station driver will deliver the 41-foot long mobile classroom to schools and other locations across the state on North Carolina as prearranged by the 4-H STEM Specialist.
This person will beresponsible for assisting the 4-H STEM Associate with setting up the mobile classroom for lessons and ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly stored for safe transport.
The driver is also responsible for delivery of the vehicle for all maintenance and repairs.
There may be an occasional trip out of the state on North Carolina.
The driver may occasionally be required to briefly interact with youth in elementary, middle, or high school.

Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an educational outreach organization within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
Cooperative Extension at A&T provides researched-based educational information, programming and technical assistance to limited-resource audiences thataddress a diverse range of issues in four programmatic areas – Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Community and Rural Development, and 4-H Youth Development.
Together with its partners – North Carolina State Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, state and county governments, a dynamic and resourceful system is formed. In addition to campus operations, Cooperative Extension has professionally staffedoffices in almost half of the 100 counties in North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian Nation.

Requirements:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Requires appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.
Preferred:
Minimum and Experience Qualifications
5 years of experience driving vehicles that require a commercial driver's license.
Valid commercial driver's license and personal transportation.
Ability to travel and work after hours/weekends as needed. Some overnight stays required.
Ability to pass a random drug screening on a regular basis.
No DUI/DWI convictions in the last 7 years.
No at-fault accidents in the last five years.
No more than 1 moving violation in the last 3 years.
Preferred Years' Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
In addition to the minimum experience and qualifications listed, the following are preferred;
5 or more years of experience driving vehicles that require a commercial driver's license.
Ability to manage time and resources.
Experience working effectively as a team member.
No DUI/DWI convictions in the last 10 years.
No at-fault accidents in the last three years.
No moving violations in the last 3 years.
Preferred Years' Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
In addition to the minimum experience and qualifications listed, the following are preferred;
- Some experience with light maintenance on diesel vehicles
- Desire to occasionally help manage the youth on the bus
