The Director of Development, Cardiology position focuses on the identification, cultivation and solicitation of major and principal gifts to advance the mission of UNC Health and the School of Medicine. Cardiovascular health is among the top strategic priorities for the UNC Health Foundation and this position is responsible for the overall coordination of fundraising for the cardiovascular area.

This position requires a strong skill set dedicated to identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding prospects and donors at major gift ($100K+). Principal responsibilities also include creating a strategic development plan to include a robust Grateful Patient initiative, building collegial relationships with faculty, advising the department chair and division chief, engaging stakeholders through events and communications, and coordinating development efforts by and between UNC Health, the School of Medicine and the University.

The metric-driven financial targets assigned to this position are commensurate with the overarching team goal. This individual is expected to build, replenish and carry a portfolio of 75-100 major gift prospects/donors and will be required to meet the standard visit and proposal metrics as set forth by the UNC Health Foundation.

Responsibilities:
-Coordinate with UNC Health and Foundation leadership and to develop and execute a strategic development plan for top-priority cardiovascular initiatives
-Build and maintain an active portfolio comprised of qualified major gift prospects and donors
-Interact, engage and coordinate with UNC School of Medicine faculty and UNC Hospitals leadership on priority programs and strategically solicit gifts for programs
-Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding PHI (Personal Health Information) thus protecting the lawful privacy of colleagues and donors

Comprehensive campaign fundraising in academic medicine and/or healthcare is preferred.
